Mihaela Runceanu – “De-ar fi să vii”

“De-ar fi să vii” (“If you were to come”) is a song written by Alexandru Wilmany and lyricist Roxana Popescu. “De-ar fi să vii” was one of the winning songs in “Melodii’86” contest and soon became a hit.
Mihaela Runceanu (b. May 4, 1955, Buzau – November 1, 1989, Bucharest) was a Romanian pop music singer and singing teacher at Arts School in Bucharest. She was one of the most popular and successful singers of Romania in the mid 80s.
Alexandru Wilmany, born on November 16, 1943, in Debreczen is one of the most prominent composers of pop music in Romania who composed great schlagers on which rhythm we danced, dance and we’ll dance again. His songs were often awarded and became hits of the moment which last in time. He took part in various concerts and festivals both jazz and pop music. Since 1988 he is a member of the Union of Composers and Musicologists in Romania. Some of his songs which are still remembered as great hits are:”Azi” (“Today”), “Cand vei veni” (“When you’ll come”), “Cineva te iubeste” (“Someone loves you”), “Vom dansa din nou” (“We shall dance again”), “Oamenii marii” (“People of the sea”), “Vreau sa cred” (“I want to believe”) and let’s not forget his 1986 hit “De-ar fi sa vii” (If you were to come”).
